Guizhou Enterprises Launch Overseas Warehouse in Kazakhstan
On July 2nd, the front page of Guizhou Daily featured an article titled "Guizhou Enterprises Launch Overseas Warehouse in Kazakhstan," reporting on the work and achievements of Guiyang Silk Road Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. in the export of second-hand cars.
Original Text:
"In May this year, our overseas warehouse located in Almaty, Kazakhstan, was officially launched. Covering an area of over 2,000 square meters, it is equipped with automobile sales showrooms, automotive parts warehouses, car storage facilities, a car enthusiasts' café, charging stations, and other service facilities, providing overseas customers with one-stop services for car purchase, maintenance, and leisure activities." At the end of June, within the exhibition hall of Guiyang Silk Road Automobile Technology Co., Ltd., the company's chairman, Dai Yuting, introduced the detailed information about the overseas warehouse to the reporter through a remote video.
As a new type of foreign trade infrastructure, overseas warehouses play the role of "regulator" and "buffer" in stabilizing and facilitating the industrial and supply chains. They have not only become a new driving force for foreign trade development but also a new channel for Chinese enterprises to expand international markets and transform and upgrade their operations.
Dai Yuting stated that through the overseas warehouse, customers can directly view the available goods overseas, place orders, and have them shipped directly, thereby resolving after-sales issues. This provides overseas customers with a better car-buying experience and serves as an important means to facilitate cross-border trade and the most effective solution. Moreover, the company can respond more flexibly to market demands, enhancing its competitiveness in the region.
Since its establishment in February 2023 in Guiyang Free Trade Zone, Silk Road Automobile has integrated high-quality products such as domestic second-hand cars, used construction machinery, used equipment, and spare parts for export to countries in need. In May of last year, the company successfully exported its first batch of business to Kyrgyzstan, achieving a breakthrough in Guizhou's export of second-hand cars. By the end of May, the company had received orders for over 1,100 used cars, which were gradually delivered to over 60 countries and regions, including Kazakhstan, Russia, Laos, Vietnam, and others.
As one of the first enterprises in the province to obtain qualifications for exporting used cars, Silk Road Automobile has maintained close cooperation with clients from Central Asia, the Middle East, and other regions. The establishment of the overseas warehouse in Almaty is aimed at leveraging its unique location and economic advantages to radiate throughout Central Asia and the Middle East, thus laying a solid foundation for future exports of second-hand cars.
In December of last year, Silk Road Automobile established an export base for used cars in Guiyang Free Trade Zone, which includes an exhibition hall for exporting used cars, a one-stop service center, and a vehicle preparation center. Furthermore, the company set up a port transit warehouse at the largest land port for automobile exports in China, Khorgos Port in Xinjiang.
"Taking advantage of Xinjiang's geographic location, we have set up port transit warehouses in Khorgos and Kashgar. For orders heading towards Central Asia, there is no need to transport them to Guiyang. They can be directly shipped from our port transit warehouses in Khorgos and Kashgar, reducing transportation time by 10 to 15 days and saving transportation costs of 5,000 to 7,000 yuan per vehicle," said Dai Yuting. The port transit warehouses have shortened the logistics time and reduced logistics costs, transforming the passive mode of "You want a specific car, and I'll find it for you" into an active promotion of "I have what car I'll buy."
Meanwhile, Silk Road Automobile has established port transit warehouses and overseas warehouses, achieving efficient coordination of the supply chain through the "dual warehouse linkage" approach. This has further improved the export industrial chain of used cars and enhanced the international influence of Chinese automobile brands.
"China's large-scale export of 'new three items' has shown remarkable performance. The large-scale equipment renewal and the replacement of consumer goods have brought unprecedented opportunities to China's export of used cars. It is also an effective way for Guizhou to accelerate the cultivation of new advantages in foreign trade competition. The overseas warehouse is one of the most effective approaches." Dai Yuting stated that the company is establishing overseas warehouses in countries such as the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East and Laos in Southeast Asia.
